RINGO STARR & HIS ALL STARR BAND

ROCK LEGENDS TAKE THE STAGE AT THE HARVEYS LAKE TAHOE OUTDOOR CONCERT SERIES, AUG. 29

Stateline, Nev. – An amazing night of good old rock ‘n’ roll is on tap at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe when Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band appear Friday, Aug. 29, in the intimate 5,500 seat outdoor amphitheater near the shores of America’s most beautiful alpine lake. The exclusive engagement is Starr’s only northern Nevada appearance this year and kicks off a rockin’ Labor Day weekend in Lake Tahoe.

In the pop and rock music pantheon, few superstars shine brighter than former Beatle Ringo Starr. Rock music luminaries on the road this year with Ringo include: John Waite, vocalist and bass player from the Baby’s and Bad English; Paul Carrack, vocalist and keyboards from Squeeze and Mike and The Mechanics; Colin Hay, vocalist and guitarist from Men at Work; Sheila E returning on drums and percussion; and band leader and saxophonist Mark Rivera.

Ringo joined the Beatles on August 18, 1962, just as the band was poised for their skyrocket rise to fame. After the Beatles disbanded in 1971, Ringo pursued his film career which already included the Beatles’ films “A Hard Days Night” and “HELP!,” as well as “The Magic Christian” with Peter Sellers and “Candy.”

He continued recording his own albums, which began prior to the Beatles breakup with the successful Sentimental Journey in 1970. Many more recordings followed over the ensuing decades including the hit LPs, Beaucoups of Blues, Ringo, Rotogravure, Old Wave, Ringo and His All Starr Band (two live recordings from 1990 and 1993), and Time Takes Time. His latest recordings include: Vertical Man (1998), I Wanna Be Santa Claus, and the recent Anthology and 10 Year Anniversary recorded in 2000.

In 1995, Ringo reunited with Paul McCartney and George Harrison to record two hit singles, “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” with the digitally added voice of the late John Lennon. The singles preceded the release of the long awaited Beatles Anthology (Volumes 1,2 & 3), which have sold over 20 million copies. Ringo’s latest CD, Ringo Rama, was released in March of this year.

Embarking on the current tour, Ringo was asked how he felt about his recent success and that of other, older rock stars like Carlos Santana.

“Well, we’re blessed we’re still alive,” Ringo responded, “…and that people want to come and see us, you know? And it’s a privilege to be able to do what for me was a dream at 13, and I’m still doing it.”

Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band hit the stage at Harveys Outdoor Amphitheater beginning at 7:30 p.m. All tickets are reserved seating and are priced at $85, $75 and $65 each.
