Largest synchronized fireworks display west of the Mississippi. Starts at approximately 9:45 PM. The simultaneous music broadcast can be heard on local stations KRLT-FM 93.9 and KOWL-AM 1490.

Tahoe Arts Project sponsors the eighth annual Lake Tahoe Festival of Fine Arts on July 11 and 12 at South Tahoe Middle School. The outdoor festival will include fine-art booths, food vendors, children's art activities, entertainment and fun for the entire family. Parking and admission are free. The event is Tahoe Arts Project's major fundraiser for the year. Tahoe Arts project is a non–profit organization whose mission is to provide cultural enrichment and diversity for the community through the arts and education, with a particular focus on youths. Tahoe Arts Project has been bringing professional performing arts of various cultures into South Lake Tahoe schools and the community for 21 years. All proceeds from the festival benefit these programs.

For the first time ever on the white sandy shores of Lake Tahoe at Sand Harbor, the Festival will produce Shakespeare's dramatic comedy, Measure for Measure, a provocative play of political intrigue and moral responsibility. Our second Shakespearian production this summer is the perennial favorite, Much Ado About Nothing, the sparkling romantic comedy of wit and banter, fools and tricksters. Dancing at Shakespeare? The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival is launching an exciting new program on Monday nights – featuring a variety of world music artists. The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival also welcomes Henry Woronicz as our Executive Producer.

The San Francisco Blues Festival and Harveys Lake Tahoe are proud to present "Blues at The Lake" on Saturday, July 11, for an historic gathering of blues music legends at the 2009 Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series on the Harveys Outdoor Arena stage. This is the third time SFBF founder and director Tom Mazzolini has put together a great blues line-up for the popular summer concert series at Harveys. For 2009, "Blues at The Lake" presents: Lonnie Brooks, Eddy Clearwater, Jimmy Johnson, Mavis Staples, Elvin Bishop, The Mannish Boys and Mitch Kashmar. Mazzolini, who also hosts the popular "Blues by The Bay" radio show in the Bay Area, will emcee "Blues at The Lake."

Ricardo Lemvo Afro-Cuban World Music at Sand Harbor

Urban Village Monday Night Music Series. Ricardo Lemvo has established himself as a pioneer with his innovative world music. Ricardo's blend of Afro-Cuban rhythms with pan-African styles (soukous, Angolan semba and kizomba) has been described by the Los Angeles Times as "seamless and infectious." The Chicago Tribune says, "Lemvo's passion for the roots of Afro-Cuba comes through in his singing. His voice is vibrant and melodious... he is one of the few artists in tropical music today who is moving the genre forward."
