If your meeting here falls somewhere in June through
November, arrive a couple of days early and tell
the office youre staying a few days longer
to wrap things up
Summer here is a grand affair. Pure mountain air
and clear skies assure sunny beach weather and star-filled
nights. Theres something about brown sugar
sand and sapphire water, but dont overlook
the hiking and biking. You can even explore the recently
completed 150-mile Tahoe Rim Trail. Boating and fishing
are enjoyable water therapies, while horseback riding
and hot air ballooning provide an entirely different
point of view.
This region is also rich in history. The early 20th
century mansions at Tallac Historic Site depict another
era of life at The Lake. Throughout the summer Valhalla,
Pope and Baldwin estates host museums, art shows
and living history reenactments.
Discover for yourself one of the worlds most
photographed spots, Emerald Bay. This glacially carved
natural wonder boasts The Lakes only island
and Vikingsholm Castle, a replica 11th century Nordic
lodge.
In the fall, a spectacular palette of colors bursts
forth from Tahoes meadows in celebration of
the changing seasons.

Skiing and snowboarding are winters preferred
methods of transportation, but getting to the mountain
can be just as entertaining. Hornblower Yachts take
skiers and boarders on a high-speed trip across The
Lake to Squaw Valley USA. Closer to home, Heavenly,
Sierra-at-Tahoe and Kirkwood provide more traditional
shuttles to their world class slopes. A trip on a
snowmobile to the Top of Tahoe, a jaunt on cross-country
skis or snowshoes into the forest, or a cruise on
a paddlewheeler across The Lake, all deliver a new
perspective on this magical place.
The Great Indoors is as varied as its outdoor counterpart.
Marquee entertainment, a wealth of dining opportunities
and world-class gaming vie for attention. The dedicated
shopper is in for a treat as well - from outlet bargains
to brand-name glamour.
As spring arrives, mix all of the above with a generous
portion of warm weather activities. Locals are known
to ski in the morning and play 18 holes of championship
golf in the afternoon.
