The Spectacular Fireworks Show is a highlight of the areas holiday celebration. In total, the show will use a multitude of fireworks exploding 1,000 feet above Lake Tahoe, which mirrors the beautiful sky displays. |

Vantage points for the Fireworks Spectacular will be available at lake level or from mountain vistas. The Gondola at Heavenly will be offering rides to its observation deck located 2,800 feet above the lake. Beach-front views will be available at Camp Richardson and El Dorado Beach.
The M.S. Dixie II at Zephyr Cove and the Tahoe Queen at Ski Run Marina will offer up-close-and-personal vantage points from their paddlewheel boats anchored near the fireworks launch dock. Both sternwheelers have an evening dinner/dance cruise for $109 for adults, $55 for children, that includes live music, a sumptuous buffet dinner (including gratuity and tax), a front row seat for the fireworks display. The Fireworks Spectacular will launch around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 31. The 20-minute fireworks extravaganza will send glittering showers cascading through the sky while a complementary musical score is simulcast on local radio stations KRLT-FM 93.9 and KOWL-AM 1490. |

Special aquatic shells and other low-level competition fireworks are delivered from countries around the world including Spain, Germany and Italy.
It takes more than 1,000 hours of preparation and set up for the fireworks show.
To ensure accuracy and perfect crescendos with the accompanying music, a state-of-the-art computerized digital firing system located 500 feet from the launch dock listens to a closed frequency time code to synchronize the exact firing time for each firework.
