The mission of the Sacramento & Northeastern California Make-A-Wish Foundation® is to grant wishes to children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Each child is given the opportunity to choose his or her own special dream come true.
The Sacramento & Northeastern California Make-A-Wish Foundation® was established in 1983 to serve 24 counties, including El Dorado and the Lake Tahoe area.. We have granted over 2700 wishes in our chapter history. The Foundation arranges all the details, and then steps back while the family enjoys their own magical moments.

| The wish experience offers a much-needed break from hospitals and treatments. Instead of seeing fear in their child's eyes, parents see them laugh and giggle. Instead of the world of hospitals, treatments and medical bills, the whole family has a very special, bonding experience. The resulting smile of a child and encouraging words from a parent, speak volumes to the healing effects of a wish come true. A wish reintroduces the magic and wonder back into a child's life. A child actually gets two wishes....one is the wish they make and the second wish is to get to be a child again. |
