The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation
supports quality public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. The Foundation raises money and provides grants, resources and partnerships to benefit students, teachers and the Kindergarten through 12th Grade educational community as a whole.
Excellence in Education Grant Giving Program
There are four major programs involved in funding Excellence in Education's Grant Giving Program: Skiing for Schools, Dining for Schools, Golfing for Schools, and Endowment Fund interest donations provided by both corporations and individuals.
Teachers submit their grant requests, which are reviewed on a semi-annual basis, through a competitive and selective application process. These grants fund programs that are specifically designed for students: to encourage their interest in learning, to provide concrete learning experiences and to promote academic excellence. Students in every school within the District have benefited from these grants.
Seven grants, worth $7,500.00, were awarded during the 1991-1992 academic school year. Since then, 787 grants have been awarded by the Foundation at a value of over $1,622,000.
